ENCOURAGE YOURSELF
Happy Wednesday loves. Today I woke up in a bad mood with zero energy or motivation. With so many things to accomplish for the day all I could think about was this attitude I had. On days like today I have to give myself a little extra encouragement. Today I’m sharing ways that you can encourage yourself when you’re not feeling your best and need some extra strength.
Pray: The first thing I do when I wake up is pray. I go to God for everything. Even when I don’t feel like it. Nothing is more powerful than prayer. When you’re not feeling your best pray that God will bring you joy. Pray that he will calm your mind and bring you peace. When I pray a little harder and focus my energy on God I feel so much better.
Read Encouraging Words & Think Positive Thoughts: I love reading scriptures, devotionals, and books that put me in a good mindset. I love to recite these scriptures from James 1:2-4 (NLT) below:
“2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
Listen to Positive Music: Music always puts me in a good mood. I can really listen to music all day if you let me. I have different playlists for different purposes. When I’m in a rut or feeling discouraged I love listening to my Praise & Worship playlist. Something about gospel croons just make me feel so good. Check out some of my favorite Praise & Worship songs below:
Tremble – MusiqCity (Darrel Walls)
Situation – Jonathan McReynolds
Respond – Travis Greene
Mighty God (Another Hallelujah) – Elevation Worship
Worthy – Isaac Carree
I Am – James Fortune
In times where you lack motivation or energy I challenge you to encourage yourself. Speak peace and positivity over your life. Trust God and let him work everything out. Have a great day!
