A SPRINKLE OF SCRIPTURE
Hey loves. I was reading my word and completing my S.O.A.P for today and it inspired me to share. If you’re not familiar with the acronym S.O.A.P it stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. I apply this method everyday when I read my scriptures. It helps me to really focus and capture what God wants me to receive from his word. Today’s S.O.A.P is from Jeremiah 29:11. Here’s what I received from the scripture below:
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Observation: I often hear people say “the fastest way to make God laugh is to make plans.” This scripture couldn’t be more telling of that. We often make our own plans for our lives and end up disappointed when they don’t align with God’s will. In reading this scripture I’m reminded that God already has a specific plan for us. When he created us he planned out our purpose and our paths. His plans are always good for us.
Application: I will try to remember that God’s timing isn’t always my timing. I won’t get upset or disappointed when my plans do not align with the plans that God has for my life.
Prayer: I pray that I can remain confident in God and his plans. I pray that I can trust his timing for my life and not be anxious. I pray that my future plans align with God’s will for my life, because I know that they will not harm me. I will not worry because God has planned my future and it is prosperous. I know that I am not spared from pain or suffering, but I will trust God and his plans, because he will never leave nor forsake me.
I hope you all have a great day and continue trusting God and his timing.
