WHEN RIHANNA GIVES YOU LIFE

Hey, loves.  The weekend has commenced, and I’m still trying to pick my face up off the ground (jk).  Rihanna blessed us over the weekend with her long awaited makeup collection ‘Fenty Beauty’ and she literally broke the internet.  If I could tell you one thing about myself, it’s that I’m obsessed with Robyn Fenty.  I’ve been a fan since her Pon de Replay days.  She could sell anything and I’d probably purchase it.  I managed to get ahold of some of her collection (everything I wanted), and I wanted to share my thoughts. I purchased the primer, killawatt highlighter in Mean Money & Hu$tla Baby, and the lipgloss.  I knew exactly what I wanted when I saw the preview. The first thing I always notice is packaging, and I will tell you that Rihanna didn’t take shortcuts with the packaging. Every single product is beyond gorgeous, and I would honestly give Fenty Beauty an A+ on that alone, but let’s get into the actual products.
I was the most intrigued by the primer, because I love to shop for different primers. The primer has a matte finish, which I love.  It’s great for oily skin.  I like that the consistency isn’t too thick, and that the product does a great job of helping your makeup stay in place.  I’ve used the primer for a few days now, and although I won’t be replacing my holygrail primer (Smashbox Photo Finish), I will say that this is a great substitute.  I love how much thought she put into the collection to include a primer, because we all know that makeup rule #1 is to always wear primer.
I was a little hesitant to try the highlighters, because I wasn’t interested in the most popular color (Trophy Wife).  I knew the color wouldn’t work for me, but I hadn’t really heard about the other highlighters.  I decided to stick to my comfort zone and get Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby.  The colors looked like my kind of highlighters, and I had feeling that I would love them.  Well, my feeling was right, because I love the duo.  I’m picky when it comes to highlighters, and the Killawatt did not disappoint.  It’s the perfect color and has the right amount of glow that’s not too overwhelming.  I can definitely see myself hitting pan on this.

The last item that I purchased was the gloss bomb.  Have you ever purchased a makeup item and knew that it would be great before you even swatched or used it? Well, that’s how I felt about the gloss bomb. I’m a lipgloss kind of girl, so I knew this was going to be the perfect item for me.  I love the packaging, and it’s perfect to throw in my purse.  The gloss bomb is the perfect nude for any complexion.  It has a hint of shimmer, that’s not too overwhelming or chunky, and also has a fruity scent.  The gloss bomb is probably my favorite item that I purchased from the collection, because it’s the item that I can see myself repurchasing multiple times.  I love the pigment of the gloss, and that it’s not super sticky.  I’ve seen a lot of reviews on the Fenty Beauty Collection, and most people love the gloss bomb. This just might be my holygrail gloss.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Fenty Beauty Collection.  I think Rihanna did an awesome job, and really did her research.  One item that I would like to try in the future is the foundation.  I’ve heard nothing but great things, and it comes in every shade (literally 40 different shades…yaasssss). Once I get my hands on the foundation I’ll be sure to review it for you all.  If you’ve considered purchasing anything from the collection, I’d definitely recommend it.  You won’t regret it. Well I hope you all have an amazing week and weekend.
