LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS

Hey, loves. I hope you’re having an awesome day.  I was a little hesitant about writing this post, but I figured it could help someone.  This week (Monday) my life was turned upside down (not in a bad way).  I was asked to make a huge life changing decision that could affect my career. While my decision hasn’t been made just yet; I wanted to share some tips that I am using to help me make this choice.
  1. When facing life decisions the first thing I always do is pray.  I know this sounds like the most common and basic answer, because it is.  I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer.  I pray for discernment and the ability to make clear decisions.  I pray to hear from God, and that he orders my steps.  I also pray for the courage and strength the deal with the consequences of my decision making.
  2. After praying, I like to make a list.  Making a list of pros and cons, or questions and concerns helps me to make a clearer decision.  I’m finding that my list is really helpful right now.  For my current situation, my list isn’t really about the pros and cons, but more about the questions that I have.  I’ve come up with this list to present my questions in hopes that the answers will make my decision easier.
  3. Ask for advise from people you value.  Ultimately, the decisions that we make have to be made by ourselves, but it’s great to get some insightful information from other people.  I’m actually finding that the advice that I’m getting is really helpful.  Some of the advice that I’ve received this week has allowed me to see things in a different perspective, and also consider asking questions that I hadn’t thought of previously.
  4. Be confident in your decision.  This is where I’m struggling.  I haven’t made my decision just yet, because I’m honestly not confident in the end result.  I’m still uncertain about a lot of things (which is why I have a list of questions), which is why it’s a little difficult to make my final decision.  I believe that we should be completely confident in our choices, especially when they can alter our entire life.  We have to know that we are making the best decisions for our lives (and families), and not second guess those actions.  When we are completely confident in our choices, others will be confident in them as well.
Well I hope these are helpful for you.  I’m still making my decision, and trying to use my own tips.  I’ll continue to keep y’all posted on my final decision.
Have an awesome week!
