YOU CAN’T LOSE WHEN YOU BET ON YOURSELF

Hey, loves.  I hope you all are having a great Wednesday.  I wanted to talk about myself a little bit, and why I always feel that it’s important to bet on yourself.  When I was in high school, I was determined to leave my small town.  I couldn’t stand the thought of living in Michigan for the rest of life, so I did everything in my power to move as far away as possible.  I applied for multiple colleges, knowing that there was a high probability of me being rejected but I was determined to move out of the state.  I remember my teachers always talking about how great the local schools were, and how everyone should try to attend schools in state, and that pushed me to move even more.  I kept applying to schools, and didn’t give up on my dream of moving out of the state.  Needless to say, after multiple rejects I finally got accepted into a few schools in Texas which ultimately resulted in me attending The University of Texas at San Antonio.  Fast forward to four years later, after graduating from college.  Most people move back home after college, but I was determined to make a life for myself in Texas.  My friends, and family tried to convince me to move back, because it was the most affordable thing to do, but I told myself that I would have rather struggle in Texas, than move back to Michigan, and I did just that (and I mean the struggle was really real).  I didn’t think that I could be successful living in San Antonio anymore, and had dreams of living in Houston, so I took one of the biggest risks in my life to make my dreams a reality.  I had one paycheck left at my job in San Antonio, and very little savings (save your money, y’all), but I decided to bet on myself. I knew that the risks where high by me leaving  San Antonio, but I believed so much in myself that I didn’t let the possibility of failing deter me. I quit my job in San Antonio, and moved to Houston without the slightest clue of where I would be employed (crazy, right?).  I had a few interviews lined up in Houston, but nothing was definite.  Needless to say, within a week of me moving to Houston; I found a job (where I am currently employed) and was able to start that following week.  I’ve been living in Houston for four years now, and I wouldn’t trade that crazy risk for anything.  I wanted to share this story with you, because I feel that it’s always important that we bet on ourselves.  Although, we may not know the outcome of every situation.  When you believe in yourself and your ability to accomplish any goals, nothing will stop you from reaching them.  I think it’s so important that we bet on ourselves, because many opportunities can come from it.  You never know how much your life can change just by taking a risk and believing in your ability to win.  I know my choice of moving to Houston and even Texas was a huge risk, but it was the best risk I’ve ever taken.  My life has changed so much by making this move, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  Well I hope y’all remember to always believe in yourself, and when it comes to gambling, bet on yourself, because you won’t lose.  Have an awesome week.
