It’s 6:30am and your alarm clock is going off (well that’s the time that my third alarm goes off), telling you to wake up and start your week. And if you’re like me, you’ve probably hit snooze a few times before then. It’s Monday morning, the day that we are all dreading. The weekend shenanigans have commenced, and it’s time to face reality again (what a drag). Most people hate Monday’s, because it’s the beginning of the work week, but I’m learning to embrace them. For me, Monday’s are a new beginning. Whatever madness that occurred in the previous week is null and void (for the most part). I’ve usually had a ton of rest and relaxation prior to Monday morning, which helps me to be prepared for the day. I don’t usually take naps or go to bed early during the week, but on Sunday’s I wind up doing both. After church, I usually find time to squeeze in a nap, and I try to get to bed at a decent time that night. I’ve found that it help me to be more alert on Monday. I’ve also noticed that I don’t hit the snooze button as many times as I do during the other days of the week. One thing that I also try to do on Sunday’s is get organized. I like to plan out my week as much as I can. I plan/create my blogs for the week, arrange my work schedule, as well as personal schedule. I’ve found that when I’m organized on Monday, it helps my week go a lot smoother. I usually receive a ton of work emails, so I try to catch up on them before I arrive in the office that day (Monday morning, NOT on the weekends). I like to be prepared for anything that’s happening in the office before I get there. The last thing that I try to do is have a positive mindset. I usually pray before I start my day, and jam out to my favorite music on the ride to work. This helps me to get in a good mood, and think positively about the week ahead. I also try to walk into my office with a smile on my face and greet the first person that I see. This makes me feel good, and usually makes the other person feel good as well. Well, I hope you all can embrace Monday’s like I have, and I hope you’ll have an awesome rest of the week. Be sure to think positively, and act is if everyday were Friday.
