I’m a firm believer in people being exactly who they are. Sometimes it’s tempting to put on a show for social media, and pretend that we have our lives together, but people can tell when you’re not being genuine. If you were to ask my friends or family about me, they would tell you that I’m a woman who loves God. I’m extra AF (I’ll admit it). I do the utmost (yup I made that word up). I cuss a little. I’m loud (sometimes). I’m extremely funny. I’m blunt (a little too blunt at times). I’m loyal. And I love hard. These are all traits about me that I wouldn’t change. It took some years of growing, but I know exactly who I am, and I love the crazy person that I’ve become. I think it’s extremely important for people to be authentic. Don’t try to paint a perfect image for people who don’t even know who you are. Believe me, I like to do it for “the gram” too, but don’t let that leave you broke and unhappy. We all have our issues, and things that we deal with, and nobody is perfect. I took a little break from blogging, because I started to feel like I was following the crowd. I was posting about things that didn’t genuinely make me happy. I wasn’t being true to myself. I started to realize, that I was losing sight of what my intentions were for Grace and Glitz, and I’ve decided to go back to the basics. I created Grace and Glitz to inspire others to be their best selves. I wanted to share my passion for God, beauty, and life, and that’s what I’ll continue to do. I wanted to write this post, because I get tired of seeing so many people on social media putting up a front. Flaunting things that don’t belong to them, and being half naked for likes. It really makes me sad that people have to go through great lengths just to receive attention and affirmation. If we all could be exactly who we are (our true selves), the world would be a better place 🙂 I hope you all have a great Tuesday, and remember to love who you are, and it’s okay to be imperfect. Do you, boo!
