Like most women, I have an obsession with makeup. I love creating cool looks that are vibrant and fun. While I like getting creative with my makeup looks; I like to keep it simple during the week. Every morning I battle between sleeping in and being cute, and sleep usually wins. With that being said, I don’t usually have that much time to create an entire makeup look. I usually stick to the essentials: concealer, powder, blush, highlighter, eyebrow pencil, mascara, and sometimes eyeliner.
Here’s a peek at what’s in my daily makeup bag, and my must haves makeup essentials:
Concealer: I wear concealer every single day. It helps to cover my blemishes, and gives me an even palette to work with. I like to switch between the M.A.C Studio Finish and Laura Mercier concealers.
Powder: I have oily skin, so powder is a must for me. I like to switch between Makeup Forever Duo Mat and M.A.C Studio Fix powders. I use a powder daily, so that it prevents oil from building up on my face. Powders are also great if you’re trying to achieve a mattifying look.
Mascara: I use mascara, because it makes my eyes look brighter and I seem more awake. I don’t typically wear eyeshadows during the week, so mascara really helps to make my eyes stand out, especially on the days where I am extremely tired (that’s when I usually wear eyeshadow). I’m loving the Big Shot mascara from Maybelline.
Eye pencil: No matter the occasion; I always fill my eyebrows in. I think that eyebrows are important, and they can make or break a look. Some days I only fill in my brows, and walk right out the door. There’s a few brands that I love, but I mostly use the Goof Proof brow pencil from Benefit, or the Brow Wiz and Brow Definer by Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Blush: I love wearing blush, because it adds an extra pop of color to my face. Blush is one my daily items that I can’t go without. I typically wear the blushes from M.A.C, because I like the consistency and pigmentation. My favorite blush to wear from M.A.C. is Breath of Plum.
Eyeliner: Wearing eyeliner is not essential for me, but I do like to wear it occasionally. I love eyeliner, because it also adds an extra pop to the eyes, and there’s so many cool looks that can be created (like a winged eye) with it. I use the E.L.F. cream eyeliner, or the liquid liner by N.Y.C.
Wearing makeup is a must for me, but I don’t typically wear a lot during the week. If you’re someone who chooses sleep, like myself then these products will be helpful for you. I hope you all have an awesome week 🙂
